Helping Hands and Hearts (HH&H) - HAPPY ANIVERSARY
That’s right! We are already marking the one year anniversary of Helping Hands & Hearts.
Ministry teams began to spring in to action in March of last year. We’re planning a celebration on April 2nd for all volunteers who have ministered through HH&H this year. It’s great to see how the Lord is using these volunteers’ offering of time and talents to care for His body and bless those
in need. April seems such an appropriate month to celebrate the ‘showers of blessings’ that this new ministry has brought.
Remember that the Errand Team and Transportation Team have joined; Hal Fagley is the leader of that combined team. If you know of someone who needs a ride to church or if you are homebound and need an errand run, be sure to contact Hal at 774-2496.
Bereavement & Grief Support Team
Since the onset of this team, we have touched base with seven individuals and families with cards, phone calls, visitation at the funeral home, and one-on-one contact. The reactions and feedback have been good; in the time after the loss of a loved one, people need to have others who are there for them with a listening ear. Every member of the congregation can be doing some of the same things for the grieving ones. Romans 12:15 says, “Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.” (NIV)
Please pray for our team, as well as for those who have lost loved ones. Grief is not a passing thing; even one or two years after a death, an incident can cause deep grief to fare up anew. Let us all be watchful and prayerful, lifting up our brothers and sisters in Christ who mourn the loss of family members or friends who were dear to their lives.
