"Kodak Moments and the Love of Christ"
Have you ever heard of Samuel Rutherford? Samuel Rutherford was a Scottish pastor who lived in the 1600's. He was imprisoned for quite some time and wrote amazingly beautiful letters to his parishoners from his prison cell. Below is an excerpt from one of those letters:
They are happy forevermore who are over head and ears
in the love of Christ, and know no sickness but love-sickness
for Christ and feel no pain but the pain of an absent and
hidden Well-beloved... The Flower of all flowers is Christ...
His letters can be found in their entirety at www.puritansermons.com. I really desire more of what Samuel Rutherford talks about-- a growing communion with Christ. I think many things in our lives today scream for us not to go toward Christ, but away... Do you feel that pull in your own life? **Let's pray for each other. Let's pray that our hearts and minds will be on our precious Lord Jesus more than on anything else!!!
Thank you deeply for praying for the coffee house that was held last Friday!
